A Landmark Step in Digital Urban Governance
Each property gets a unique digital identity, pushing the corporation
towards full digitization of their admin processes. This project improves upon
the outdated numbering method for over 2.4 lakh homes in three areas, moving
past traditional static systems. It makes Vijayawada more efficient and modern
in managing city properties. The civic group wants faster service, clearer
rules, and less hassle for local folks. So, they're trying to link all physical
addresses to a main digital database called the AP Urban Digital Registry.
Integrating GIS Technology and Cloud Ledgers
They plan to do this by adding QR codes on buildings and homes. Scan
one of these codes, and you get directed to a special webpage. This page has
tons of useful stuff like tax info, ways to pay your water bill, business
details, and city planning facts. Everything's kept safe in the cloud. Now,
people don't have to visit government offices anymore. Just use your phone to
check what you need. Also, the system stays secure and updated, which means it
can grow and adapt well for managing resources in the future.
Enhancing Civic Efficiency and Community Benefits
The town staff and residents both benefit a lot from this new setup.
Currently, civic leaders are being trained in high-tech processes to ensure
smooth operations. This includes learning how to track parcels, integrate data
with ERP systems, and draw boundary maps. These tech tools simplify last-minute
administrative tasks, streamline e-commerce deliveries, and help emergency
teams during crises by offering accurate locations. On top of that, they make
handling taxes easier. So, this project positions Vijayawada as a cutting-edge
smart city.
