Bangalore, a bustling hub of technology and innovation, has witnessed a significant shift in the real estate landscape as UP RERA has successfully removed 22 housing projects from its abeyance list. This development paves the way for the resumption of construction on 8,856 housing units and commercial spaces that have been stalled for years due to compliance issues. With this move, the regulatory body aims to restore confidence among homebuyers and stakeholders in the real estate sector.
The UP RERA chairman, Sanjay Bhoosaredy, emphasized the importance of this decision, stating that it will enhance transparency and trust in the realty market. The reinstatement of these projects, now compliant with regulatory requirements, is expected to bring relief to thousands of homebuyers, many of whom have been anxiously awaiting their dream homes. Additionally, this initiative is anticipated to stimulate economic activity and create job opportunities across Uttar Pradesh, thereby contributing to the state's overall growth.
The introduction of the Abeyance List was a necessary step taken by RERA, aimed at addressing the issue of incomplete documentation by several developers. Nearly 400 projects had been under scrutiny due to the failure of promoters to upload essential documents, such as land ownership and approved plans, on the regulatory portal. Following the submission and thorough verification of the necessary records, the 22 projects in question have now been cleared to proceed, ensuring that construction can resume while adhering to full RERA compliance.
Among the reinstated projects, a significant number are located in Noida and Ghaziabad, with these areas hosting 12 projects that collectively encompass approximately 7,700 units. Notable projects in Noida include Jaypee Greens Garden Isles, Greenbay Golf Homes, and Galactic City - Universal Tower. Ghaziabad is also set to benefit from projects like Officer City-2 Phase-2 and Shalimar City (Phase-2), which are crucial for meeting the housing demands in the region.
Homebuyers can now look forward to the delivery of their units, as Abhijit Gohil, CEO of the Suraksha Group, mentioned that the resumption of construction on these projects is a positive step towards fulfilling commitments to buyers. Other districts, including Lucknow and Agra, will also witness the benefits of this decision, as four and additional projects, respectively, are set to resume construction, further bolstering the state's real estate sector.
