Ahmedabad, Gujarat — The Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute (GREMI), Gujarat's pioneering AICTE-approved institution focused exclusively on the real estate sector, has officially inaugurated its City Campus at Million Minds Tech City in Ahmedabad. This ambitious initiative is underpinned by an initial investment of ₹500 crore and is set to welcome its Founding Cohort of 70 students in August 2026. This launch represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of structured, degree-linked real estate education in India, marking a significant shift towards formal academic frameworks in the sector.
The establishment of GREMI’s City Campus signifies a strategic advance in creating an industry-aligned educational environment tailored for the real estate field. Supported by Ganesh Housing Limited, the institute emphasizes the necessity of integrating structured education with modern urban planning principles. The campus is designed to serve as a live learning hub that connects students directly with the built-environment industry, fostering practical knowledge and skills essential for future professionals. GREMI has also submitted an application to the University Grants Commission (UGC) to transform into a Deemed University, further solidifying its commitment to delivering world-class education and research in real estate.
The inauguration coincided with the Phase 1 launch of Million Minds Tech City, a project aimed at fostering innovation, employment, and education within the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar growth corridor. This unique convergence of a sector-specific institution within a vibrant employment district is a rare occurrence in Indian education, supported by dedicated long-term capital and strong governmental backing. Addressing prominent industry and educational leaders at the event, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, emphasized the central and state governments' commitment to enhancing housing quality, urban development, and infrastructure. He highlighted the importance of GREMI in positioning Ahmedabad as a leading destination for technological innovation and high-skilled services.
Shri Amit Shah articulated, “Gujarat is emerging as one of India’s strongest industrial growth engines, and the state is poised to become a global hub for technology and innovation. Initiatives like Million Minds Tech City will not only create world-class infrastructure and employment opportunities but will also elevate Ahmedabad among the nation’s premier technology centers. The launch of GREMI City Campus is equally significant, as it lays the groundwork for advanced education in the real estate sector.” With its vision for a 100-acre integrated university campus dedicated to teaching, research, and residential facilities, GREMI aims to establish a center of excellence that will significantly contribute to the advancement of the built-environment sector in India.
