On April 21, 2026, Bharti Real Estate, a key player in India’s real estate sector and the owner of the Worldmark brand, initiated 'Abhigyan,' an innovative industry-academia engagement program aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the fields of real estate and infrastructure. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to nurturing future talent by providing students with hands-on experience in large-scale developments, equipping them with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of modern urban infrastructure.

Abhigyan is structured around experiential learning, beginning with its inaugural field visit that welcomed civil engineering students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. The students explored the Worldmark development located in Aerocity, New Delhi, where they participated in an immersive walkthrough that illuminated the intricacies involved in conceptualizing and executing a global business district. This visit emphasized critical components such as integrated design, construction management, and project planning, alongside an interactive session led by Mr. S. K. Sayal, Managing Director and CEO of Bharti Real Estate. This approach provided students with a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the lifecycle of a project, from inception to delivery.

The engagement featured participation from senior leadership at Bharti Real Estate, including Mr. Kamal Kumar Dua, Vice President of Operations, project leaders Mr. Amit Tyagi and Mr. Ajay Kalia, Chief Marketing Officer Ms. Cherryn Dogra, and Mr. Pankaj Garg, who leads project planning and control. Additionally, industry consultants like Mr. Raja Raja Menon and Mr. Amrit Pal contributed to the discourse, enhancing the learning experience for the students. The interactions not only deepened the students' understanding of the practical challenges faced in the industry but also exposed them to best practices in delivering high-quality developments that meet global standards.

Mr. S. K. Sayal highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, "Abhigyan reflects our commitment to fostering industry understanding and nurturing future talent through real-world exposure. As infrastructure and real estate continue to evolve in scale and complexity, it is important for young professionals to understand how such developments are brought to life beyond textbooks." He emphasized that initiatives like Abhigyan aim to inspire the next generation to actively contribute to India’s growth narrative. Professor Allan L. Marbaniang from IIT Delhi also acknowledged the initiative's value, noting that it provided students with critical insights into planning, construction, and on-site execution. This collaboration between academia and industry stands to significantly enhance students' readiness for careers in the rapidly evolving real estate landscape, ensuring they are well-prepared to tackle future challenges in the sector.
