Assotech Realty has announced plans to invest approximately ₹200 crore in a new hotel project in the revered temple town of Shirdi, Maharashtra. This ambitious development will feature 160 suites, each measuring 45 square meters, designed to provide a contemporary hospitality experience. The strategic partnership with Atmosphere Core will ensure that the hotel is managed effectively, catering to a diverse clientele that includes pilgrims, leisure travelers, and destination tourists visiting this spiritually significant location. The hotel is anticipated to be operational within the next two and a half years, enhancing the existing accommodation options available in Shirdi.
Shirdi is renowned for attracting around 25 million devotees each year, making it a focal point for spiritual tourism in India. Recent improvements in infrastructure, such as upgraded road connectivity and enhanced airport access, are transforming Shirdi into a more organized tourism hub. These developments are not only beneficial for spiritual travel but are also creating opportunities for wellness and leisure tourism. Assotech Realty's investment aligns with this trend, aiming to provide an international-standard hotel experience that appeals to both domestic and international visitors. The company believes that the arrival of a professionally managed property will significantly elevate the hospitality landscape in Shirdi.
Neeraj Gulati, Managing Director of Assotech Realty, emphasized the importance of this project in the context of Shirdi's evolving tourism ecosystem. He stated, "Shirdi has always held immense spiritual significance. However, what we are witnessing today is the beginning of a broader urban evolution. Infrastructure development, improved connectivity, and rising domestic tourism are collectively shaping the town into a well-rounded travel destination." This perspective highlights the need for thoughtfully designed hospitality solutions that respect the cultural essence of such destinations while meeting the expectations of modern travelers.
Salil Panigrahi, co-founder and Managing Director of Atmosphere Core, echoed these sentiments, noting that India's spiritual tourism sector is entering a new phase marked by structured demand. He remarked that travelers now seek comfort and curated experiences even when visiting pilgrimage sites. The partnership with Assotech Realty is set to leverage these insights, bringing hospitality expertise to a location that maintains year-round demand and cultural significance. As the project unfolds, it is expected to play a crucial role in shaping Shirdi's future as a holistic tourism hub that caters to the needs of pilgrims, families, and experiential travelers alike.
